Thank you, Yvonne, for looking after Janine, Jacki and Nicole, especially Nicole, while they were students at Churchill Primary School. Peter and I appreciated all that you did for the students and of course the staff and parents. It was a pleasure helping you in the office from time to time. Hopefully you may meet up with Peter to talk about your common love of the Geelong Footy Club. I may not be able to attend the funeral but if I can’t, I will Livestream the service. Rest in peace my dear friend. XX
January 1, 2024Deepest sympathy to Yvonne’s family. I have fond memories of Yvonne, during the Gippy cats days (which is how we met) and our catch ups and chats. When I was having my first baby, Yvonne had many great suggestions for names (Joel Jimmy Corey) and of course bought the baby’ her first Geelong beanie. After moving away, I haven’t seen Yvonne in recent years, but she is often in my thoughts, especially when the cats had a win! Rest peacefully Yvonne. Go Cats. x

I’m sorry i couldn’t make it today but have had you all in our thoughts.
I remember growing up and visiting Mrs Lucas and Brian, ‘Bigbird’ to me, with my parents. I had the lovely privilege of looking after the hot houses with all the Orchids when they went away. Big bird would show me how to water each and every one before they went and on the way out Mrs Lucas always said to me ‘I’m glad its you – then she would laugh and wish me luck’. I still have a Stag growing that she gave me after Bigbird passed and she moved out of her Churchill house.
Now with Brian – Rest in Peace Mrs Lucas. To Graham Mary and the Lucas family thinking of you all

In later years I’d see Yvonne each late-September at the newsagency as we queued for our AFL grand final tickets.
Alway up for a chat and a laugh.
