I worked with Rob (Wompy) for many years at the mill. He was a great guy to work with and we always had many laughs.

I had the pleasure of working with Rob when he done a stint in the Safety department at Maryvale . He was my mentor for a time , he taught me paiticence can be a way to get things done. Mate thanks I still use some of you techniques today. RIP Robert . Condolences to your family.

So very sad to hear of Wompy’s passing. Spent many years partnering him in various Victorian junior tennis team championships! Such a great team mate with a coolness and sense of humour like no other! After leaving our teens we, sadly, never got to catch up again but the memories were (and still are) often rekindled! Those days were so precious! Deepest sympathies to all Wompy’s family and may he forever now rest in peace! xx💔🌹

The Kanavan’s from Pollock Ave were great friends of the Turners especially their mother Madge, as a great tennis player at Cumberland Park tennis club.
Also Alf, Bill and Alan worked at the APM around Robert for many years. Gone too soon.

I miss Papa so much and I hope this helps everyone with their grieving. I think it will help me a bit but he has had an amazing

Robbie was a great bloke, (despite being stubborn and a Geelong supporter). After 50 years, though we were separated by time and distance, he remained one of my closest friends.
