PARER, Michael Stanislaus

I am Michael’s eldest son. Thank you for the kind words from those that knew dad, particularly from those aspects that were a little unknown to us with regard to his work, CCC, the priesthood and his work FTI etc. We are aware of some, but not all his impacts, so it’s appreciated.

Dad on only special occasions or with special people would ware what we called his technicolored dreamcoat in reference to the musical Joseph. It was more a 60s Hippy-styled long knitted waistcoat. It was ridiculously out of place, everywhere, suited his personality perfectly and never looked out of place on him no matter the circumstances. Dad’s life was colourful, to say the least, so it’s only fitting that his funeral will attempt to be the same. If you have something coloured or rainbow then please where it Wednesday. Dad’s coffin will have his technicolored dreamcoat draping over it.

I will post a link to a video in a couple of days of a tribute to dad if anyone is interested.

We had unforeseen and unfortunate passport issues and I be viewing the livestream from the UK with my wife Paula and daughters Stephanie and Eliana. Our other daughter Anais will be viewing it from Thailand.

Dear Ben, condolences on the death of your Father.
This is a long shot. When I was young my Aunt worked at presperteries around Melbourne. I spent school holidays with her and I recall a Michael Parer being at St. Augustines in Yarraville. If I dug deep enough I may have a photo. It would have been in the early to mid 60’s. I can’t access PDF files still on my list to learn. I lived in Newborough for many years and still read the LV express, although most times now it death notices of colleagues and friends. If it was your Father I remember he gave good sermons, relivent and not too long.
