What a wonderful man and human being. Les has left such a positive legacy and mark in the LV on those who met him and those who knew him.
He was someone who loved being, sharing, learning, educating and entertaining. He was interested and interesting. Someone who reinvigorated love and passion for the Latrobe Valley as a whole, even, and especially in long termers like me. Les always looked for the best in and for our community. A worthy winner of Citizen of the Year.

He came, he saw he made a huge, positive, difference.

Les Hunt was a great bloke. His work in the local community was stellar and his knowledge of organisations that impacted in a positive way to the people of this area made him the legend that we all knew. Always up for a challenge and a debate and always cared about society and where we were heading. God Bless you Les Hunt…you made other lives better for your efforts. What a treasure was your Les. He was always a caring, positive and kind person in our time on the stage with the Latrobe light opera . What a lovely person to have come upon in our life… What a sad thing it was to see Les and dear Meryl having to go through this, but how lucky were they to have had so many years together, and the fruits of their marriage to love and care.
