DERHAM – Barbara Mary (née Raymond)
6th September 1930 (Albury NSW) – 7th April, 2019
88 years
Anne, Philip, Chrissie, James and Georgina are very saddened to announce the death of Barbara, their dear mother, mother in law and grandmother and beloved wife of George (Dec.)
Her brother, Dr. Oliver Raymond (OA) (Canberra) and his family and her large, extended family of Derham in-laws, nieces and nephews also mourn her death.
The family extends its heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the remarkable Staff of the Latrobe Valley Village who took care of her so lovingly and with such dignity and compassion for these past years. We are forever grateful.
“If music be the food of love, play on.”
William Shakespeare, Twelfth Night
In lieu of flowers donations to Latrobe Valley Village Aged Care would be appreciated, envelopes available at the service.
Barbara’s gift of music to the Latrobe Light Opera Society, and to me in particular, made a major impact upon my life. I feel privileged to have worked under her direction for The Gondoliers, Waltzes from Vienna, The Gypsy Baron and The Mikado in the 1980’s. A highly intelligent and gifted woman who made such a difference to so many lives. My love and condolences to her family. Thank you for sharing her with us!
April 28, 2019She taught us music and French with passion and skill and I have never forgotten her. I have thought of her often over the years. Goodnight Mrs Derham.
