An absolute gentleman. A constant part of the video of my youth. Many sleepovers spent with Heather, trip to Young Talent Time with the lairy tie to attract the camera, extreme sunburn with blisters on our trip to Glenelg and ABBA concerts live on your entrance hallway step. Wonderful friend to Cilla and Eric and one of the first people to meet our Erin on your trip to Alice Springs.

  43. My dear Grandad,
You were a devoted husband, a wonderful father, the best grandfather we could ever have asked for, a beautiful man.
You will be missed more than words can describe, but I will cherish the many memories we made together over the years. Your lumpy chair, your selective hearing when Nanna called “Johnno” across the lounge room, your cheeky smile whenever I asked if you’d been drinking enough water, when you sang “All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth” as I bawled in Dad’s arms after knocking them out in the bath as a four-year-old, your Donald Duck sneezes. Seeing the love, respect and admiration so many held for you has brought warmth at a very sad time, and I will forever try my best to be the kind of man you taught me to be. It is an honour to be your eldest grandson. Go Saints. Love now and forever, Josh.
