  2. Ruth was a guide and friend to me when I first started teaching. I respected her greatly, and valued her friendship. Thirty years ago she read a poem at my wedding by Kalil Gibran. It seems appropriate for me to quote him now for Ruth:

    “For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
    And what is to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?”

  4. I am now 42 but when I think back on my School years Mrs Howard’ is one of the Teachers that I loved enough to remember. Sorry to hear of her passing. She was a wonderful lady.
