Heather was one of the first people I met when I began working at the WTO in 2013. As a fellow Australian, it was such a delight to meet Heather and enjoy her warm and witty sense of humor and her characteristics kindness. She was at various times an enormous help to me as I settled into a new job and a new city, and I am deeply grateful for having known her. My deepest condolences to her family on this tragic loss, taken far too soon.

Heather was a light in our lives with her ebullient Ozzie sense of humour. Great gal.

For sure she will bring joy wherever she will land! I keep her smile and jokes in my mind. My colleagues of GATT/WTO Development Division, Gary Sampson years, will not forget her ever bright smile, her remarks about Australia having the most beautiful beaches (tough for a Brazilian like me) and her “Be careful wombats on sight. Gone too soon. Heather was a lovely person to work with at the WTO in Geneva. Always smiling, very friendly, overall great colleague. So sorry to hear of her passing and sending her family condolences from the other side of the world. Bon courage.

I had the privilege to work closely with Heather and like other colleagues, I was shocked and devastated upon hearing about her passing. Heather was a very nice and sincere person. She was a good professional and dependable. She was full of life and an inspiration to many of those who came into contact with her I will miss her! May her soul rest in eternal peace.

Darling Heather, so sad to hear of your passing. I was lucky to meet Heather in Geneva in 1993 when as two expatriate Aussies we both took up jobs there. As we all know, Heather was a hoot. It was truly a delight to get to know Heather. She always greeted people with a smile and a genuine enquiry as to their wellbeing. Her quirky Aussie humour never failed to get a laugh. I can honestly say that I never saw her in a bad mood. The world has lost one of its lights. May her spirit live on in those that she touched.

Many years ago, Heather was the first person from the WTO to contact me regarding interning with the WTO. Such a friendly face and such a lovely interaction; Heather was my first introduction to the WTO and what a memorable one it was! Thanks for your kindness and warmth in those early days when I knew no one at the office! Can’t believe you are no more! Rest in peace and may the heavens welcome you with open arms

Heather, you were one of a kind – a natural woman! I will always remember your generosity, your Aussie humour (when you were busy you were “flat out like a lizard drinking”), and your contagious laughter which could be heard ringing through the corridors at the office. Rest in peace, and sincere condolences to your family, to your nieces and nephews of whom you spoke with much pride and love!

Ah mate, what did you have to leave so soon for!!!!! It was way too early as you always had so much life in you. I thoroughly enjoyed our couple of years sharing an office. We had a good laugh even through some of the dreadful times. My kids adored you. You used to tease them like hell and they used to laugh at your appalling French accent. I’m so sorry you left us when you did, but RIP my old mate!

I have very fond memories of Heather during my time at the WTO in Geneva. She was a great colleague and friend to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her indomitable spirit and wicked sense of humour will be sorely missed. With deepest sympathy to her family and friends down under.

Heather, I was introduced to you through your sister Roma who is a dear friend of mine. I have always adored your whole family.
I have many memories of the good old Guiding days which Heather was involved with and was one of the leaders. Such a fun and inspirational woman.
I loved her love of life and ‘can do attitude’!
I loved hearing about her travels via Roma and was envious of her life living and working in Switzerland. Amazing!

So sorry to learn that Heather has gone too soon. I was fortunate to enjoy Heathers delightful company over several years in the early 1980’s (after our meeting at the hectic Loy Yang construction project). I’m glad that she was able to go on and enjoy the travel and overseas adventures she loved. My condolences to Linda, Roma and family.

Cannot believe Heather has passed away and way too soon – such a great loss.
