Dear Alice,

I,like many others in this room have known Alice for a very long time.The overriding sense I have of Alice is that she really cares for her extended family.She was always happy to be surrounded by her three girls, their partners and her precious grandchildren. I do believe the most wonderful years of her life started when she married George Lawrence, a friend and mate to all of us. Alice now joins George and Greg, where I reckon she will be working on Body Corporate issues to ensure its smooth and efficient operation. Alice had a full and long life. I do believe she will rest in peace. Rod.

Alice Lawrence; the strongest woman I ever knew, and I’m so lucky to have called her my grandmother.

Grandma was fiercely proud of the family, and all of our achievements; she was my number one supporter. She guided me through life’s challenges, shared countless afternoon cuppas, and always offered a warm and comforting embrace.
I will be forever greatful for how close we were, especially during my childhood, and will treasure our memories.

Her independence, strength, intelligence, kindness and love helped shaped who I am today.

Love you always, Grandma. I hope I continue to make you proud. I’ll miss you every day, until we meet again ❤️

Mumma thank you. For creating our incredible family, for fighting for as long as you did so we had more time together, for being here when our kids were born. Without you there is no us and I’ll forever be grateful for that. You were strong beyond words and I hope to keep that fighting spirit alive like you did. Rest in peace grandma. We love you. Dear Mum, Words cannot describe how much I will miss you. We certainly had our challenges and differences of opinion, but despite it all, we had an amazing connection and one I will treasure forever. You instilled in me the wonderful qualities of strength and resilience and I am grateful for this everyday. Please give Greg a hug and let him know a day doesn’t go by that I don’t miss him. Thinking of you all Wendy, Gail, Andrea and families at this very sad time. Alice was an amazing, caring lady and my late eldest brother George was very lucky to have her as his wife..We always made a point of dropping in to visit Alice when passing through Traralgon and she was always full of news about her family. I’m sorry we can’t be at her farewell service, as we are in the USA at the moment.

Alice, So many memories of times spent with you. The holidays we shared at the caravan parks in Lakes, to the many other occasions of catching up with you. You were always a people person, loved being with people.
Your memory and knowledge was incredible. Your face lit up when someone came along for a chat and you did love a chat!! But your face lit up even more when you were telling us about your family. You were so proud of them all.

Sincere condolences to all of Alice’s family. I was fortunate to enjoy Alice’s friendship from 1963 when I boarded with the Pearce family in Gordan Street and then with her mother before I married. Alice’s interest in my family and sport continued throughout the years. Your mother and grandmother was a lovely lady.
