Tributes
  1. I was one of Betty’s students at Yallourn Tech way back in the late sixties. Betty was a formidable woman who knew exactly how to educate the unruly band of “Tech Types” she inherited.

I had Betty for three or four years in a row for English. Her classes were NEVER boring and she made an indelible contribution to my life. I went to Gippsland Insitute where Paddy was a civil engineering lecturer, she used to say of Paddy’s vocation that:

“It might be s…t to you, but it’s bread and butter to us”

Betty called a spade a spade!

I did electrical engineering so I never had Paddy as a lecturer, I wish I had.

I never knew her children, but they can be very proud of their mum.

I only wish I could have done brunch with her at the end of my career so I could tell her what happened to me and to thank her.
