Pop’s Journey’s Just Begun

Don’t think of Pop as gone away…
His journey’s just begun
Life holds so many facets
This earth is only one.

Just think of him as resting
From the sorrows and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days or years.

Think how he must be wishing
That we could know today
How nothing but our sadness
Can really pass away.

And think of him as living

Very sad to hear about uncle Ray passing away, both Jean and myself have have you all in our thoughts especially auntie Lorraine, l will always remember uncle Ray being a true gentleman and an exceptional Human being, unfortunately I’m unable to attend the funeral , but will be live streaming it.

You closed your eyes and went to sleep;
With your family lying on the floor beneath your feet.
It all happened so sudden, you were here then you were gone;
But how lucky we were to have had you for 87 years long.
We had you at home where you wanted to be;
Surrounded by all of your beautiful family.

You were caring patient witty and kind;
Men like you are a very rare find.
You were a role model to many and looked up to by everyone;
Your commitment to family was second to none.

A beautiful man with a heart of gold;
Who lived a wonderful life as we were told.
The past 9 days we laughed and we cried;
But there’s nowhere we would have been than right here by your side.

The stories, the laughter, the smooth drinks and tears;
You went back over your life and filled us in on all of your wonderful years.
This invaluable time we will never forget;
We will cherish these memories and have no regrets.

You loved your family and your beautiful wife;
And like you told us you lived a wonderful life!

We will miss your laugh, your cheekiness and smile;
But it’s not goodbye, it’s see you in a little while……..

Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left.

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him
Or you can be full of the love that we shared,

My Dad,
Wow what a man. Loved his family so much and very loved by his family,
We had so many good times on the golf course and on the snooker table.
Even though you were my dad you were always one of my best mates. You were always there for all of us no matter what.

Dad you were definitely 1 in a million. My heart is breaking. Thank you for everything you did for me, you helped me renovate my house and I loved that time we spent together doing it. You would drop in for a quick sneaky cuppa on your way to the shop’s. The way you looked out for my girls was amazing and then to see you with their children was so heart warming, your family was certainly the highlight of your life. I am so happy we got to spend the last 9 days with you at home, it was definitely a pleasure looking after you and listening to your amazing stories was priceless. You were the most gentlest soft spoken man. I will say the best compliment I have ever had was being told I’m just like my father. We miss you so much and promise we will take care off Mum for you.

Dad,
You were the best Man I have ever seen and will always be that Man in my memories. We saw a new side of you in the last nine days when we finally got you home with the stories you have told and the strength you showed. You brought so much joy to our family through all the generations over the years and will sorely missed.

Poppy,
Words can never express the love we have for you.

We will miss our visits with You and Nan.
A massive part of all our lives is now missing with only memories to fill this gap. They are fond memories and I am sorry that My children will not get to have the amount of years we had with you because after all, you were the best Poppy.
We will however, make sure you live on through us all, with the amazing legacy you have left here on Earth.

Dad,
The world has lost a true gentleman and our family has lost our beautiful father. You gave me personally a life that I could never ever thankyou enough for, a life overflowing with love and happiness. Your family was your life and you displayed that even in those final days as sick as you were you still brought laughter and happiness to all our beautiful family, I will cherish those final conversations we had Dad, I love you so very much and will miss you until the day we are together again.

Miss you dearly pop love you heaps

As a former SECV construction engineer I remember and acknowledge the very skilled work that Ray did in his welding of many of the largest and most important steam pipe joints during construction of the Valleys power stations. Ray was very well liked and respected by our welding supervisors.
