Funeral NoticeThe Morwell Swimming Club Committee and families are deeply saddened by the passing of our Head Coach and Life Member Geoff Peterson on Friday 12 April 2024. A coach, mentor and friend to all that passed through the doors of the Morwell Swimming Club since 1992. His loyalty and commitment to his swimmers continued to his very last days. A well respected member of the Gippsland Swimming Community who will be greatly missed. Condolences to Geoff’s family at this sad time.
April 17, 2024Geoff had a wonderful sense of humour, we are going to miss him at swimming training every Friday. Geoff was a calm and patient committed coach,. We are very saddened by Geoff’s Passing, he left us so quickly we didn’t get to say good bye. We offer our sympathy’s to Geoff’s family. Rest well Geoff and Thank you. Geoff’s love and passion for coaching was his pride and joy. He was a true sportsman and very professional. He always had time for a chat and a laugh. My sincere condolences to all of his
family. He ll be sadly missed . R.I.P.Geoff .We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Geoff, a long standing swim coach of the Morwell Swim Club. He made a profound impact on the lives of many young swimmers both in and out of the pool. His dedication to helping kids improve their swimming speaks volumes about his passion and commitment to the sport. His legacy will surely live on through the countless individuals he inspired and mentored. Our heartfelt condolences go out to you all who knew and loved him. We will miss seeing you each day in your favourite chair on pool deck eating an ice cream.

Geoff has been part of the Gippsland coaching fraternity for nearly half a century with both Churchill and Morwell Swimming Clubs and has been responsible for the development of hundreds of swimmers who have gone on to regional, state and national success. His prowess in educating young swimmers with stroke skills and technique was second to none and he continued his coaching journey right to the end.
A quiet, caring and authentic man with a passion for the sport Geoff will be greatly missed and we at the Traralgon Swimming Club send our sincere condolences to his family, friends and coaching connections.Geoff had an incredible impact on our swimming journey at Morwell Swimming club. He was an exceptionally dedicated coach who inspired so many swimmers during our involvement with the club. Our swimming club journey had a massive impact on our boys. It developed a discipline that lives with them still. So many amazing memories of the people we met during these years. Lifelong friends were established.. More recently we enjoyed our catch ups at Mid Valley always time to reflect on the past, the lovely relationship he shared with Kate and her boys, they meant the world to him.
Geoff you had an Incredible career and your commitment to swimming was outstanding.
