Cherished memories of happy and carefree days of our youth, especially when we all shared a flat in Melbourne with lots of laughing and good times.
Leah will be sadly missed. Sleep in peace Leah. 🙏💞
Lyn and Gary Philp.Aunty Leah,
Thank you so much for your love, support and loyalty. Your involvement in our lives was given readily and without obligation. I often thought of you as another grandparent of Nathan and Luke, rather than as a great-Aunt.
I am grateful for the way you accepted me as a member of your family in 1998 and this did not waiver even after my divorce. You told me that I would always be family and you meant it.
Losing you has left a hole in our lives that cannot be filled. I know that the boys and I will never forget you and, l will encourage the telling of “Aunty Leah” stories until the end of my days.
Rest in peace with Albin and your parents.
We love you so much and miss you more than could be measured.
Joanne, Nathan and Luke. xoxoxoxo
March 20, 2025I was deeply saddened to hear of Leah’s passing. She was a loyal and true friend; she had a kind heart and did not judge people. We first met in 1969 when I started work at the SECV in Morwell. Even though she was 3 years older than me, she did not treat me any differently to her work colleagues. We discovered we had a lot in common and struck up a long lasting friendship. Our parents emigrated to Australia after the War in 1950 from Europe. We often talked about the difficulties they faced in those early years, and agreed on how lucky we all were to be in this country.
We shared similar interests of a love of sewing, knitting, crochet, the beach and saw many rock’n roll bands over the years. We loved the markets and spent many enjoyable days at the Vic Market in Melbourne. On one of Leah’s visits, when my daughter Elise was about 4 years old, she gifted a beautiful hand knitted fair isle cardigan and, in true ‘Leah style’, she also knitted a matching cardigan for Elise’s doll. I still have those precious items today and they will be passed on to my daughter when she has children.
Leah, you lived a quieter life during the later years, but we sometimes were able to keep in touch by phone. You were a remarkable and special person, so loyal, genuine and kind and I will miss you. You will not be forgotten.
Heartfelt condolences to Kris and Maurie, Joe and Janet, Frank and Jane, and all their families. Resting and now at peace with your Father Ludwik, Mother Aniela and Brother Albin.
I am heartbroken to lose you dear friend.

March 21, 2025So sorry to hear of Leah’s passing. Condolences to her family.
Even though we hadn’t been in contact for many years. I have so many happy memories of Leah’s time in Melbourne. All the pubs, dinners, parties, festivals and just being in her company. She had a very dry sense of humour and was very “crafty”, a great knitter and crocheter. I still have a lovely outfit she knitted for my first born.
Leah may you rest in peace.Mary Coughlan & Family
