SMITH, Trevor Clive

Born on December 2, 1951. Passed away August 26, 2024.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Trevor Smith. Trevor passed away at 3:00 pm on Monday,  August 26, 2024. Aged 72 years.

Trevor was a long-time and well-respected community member of the Omeo district, owning and operating Omeo Bus Lines for 26 years. He was also a dedicated member of the Lions Club for 35 years.

Trevor was the loving son of Clive and Jean (dec). Father of Michelle, Andrea, Carla, and Viveka, and the father-in-law to Ash and Joel. He was a proud Papa to Bailey, Ruby, Elizabeth, and Hamish, and a cherished Uncle to Adam and Nicole.

Diagnosed with Melanoma Cancer 18 months ago, Trevor stayed strong, resilient, and calm throughout his final weeks. He spent this time surrounded and supported by family and friends at home. Trevor was deeply grateful and appreciative of the love and care shown to him by so many, both near and far.

“High Country Trev,” as he was affectionately known, cherished his family and friends. He had a passion for dancing, fishing, hunting, and enjoying time with his Rainbow and ConFest family. Trevor was a devoted lifetime member of the Collingwood Football Club and really appreciated a good scotch. Trevor’s big smile brought a spark to those around him, and many have shared just how much their lives were influenced by his guidance.

Trevor’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

  8. One of the best, taken way too soon. Our favourite Trev memory was his ability to turn his hand to anything but his love of always sharing his skills with everyone was what made Trev stand out from the crowd. To Trev’s Family and many, many Friends we hope this difficult journey adjusting to life without this wonderful, inspirational man will become easier with time. Trev you are already missed and will be for a long time to come. Loved you then, love you now, love you long time. Marky Mark and Suzie❤️

  9. Trevor was a pure gem. I first met Trevor at ConFest 2018. The set up crew were in a major panic due to our water systems not being ready for the thousands of festival goers who were about to arrive. Trevor went for a walk and saw one camp set up with running water and asked the owner how he managed that, he found that Shalom worked in irrigation. So Trev went to work, developed a crew, salvaged all hosing he could get from our old site, read the rules to the old guard who were wanting to use an unsuitable system, garnered support from those who held the purse strings and bought the necessary equipment. Worked around the clock
and vola water was distributed to thousands of people. He had come for rest and relaxation., little did he know what he would sign himself up to. We soon made Trev our water facilitator,. The quality of the water is now so pure that the towns people come to consult with Down To Earth Co-op about the system. Rest in peace my darling Trevor. I will always have fond memories of what you were able to achieve.
