Dear Mum

Two tired eyes are sleeping

Two willing hands are still

For one who suffered far too much

Is resting in God’s will

You never said goodbye to us

Perhaps it’s just as well

We never could have said goodbye

To one we loved so well

We see your face before us

Your voice we long to hear

We miss and love you dearly

We wish you were here

Tears fall freely from our eyes

Like a river filled with grief

Our only comfort is that now

From pain you’ve found relief
