  3. Remembering Nan

Nan was an elegant lady who was always dressed so beautifully, she loved to get her nails and hair done regularly.
There are many wonderful memories we are blessed to have of Nan, and although we have lost her these memories will last forever.
Nan had a smile and laugh that reflected the feeling of joy, and whenever I think of that, all I can do is smile.
Those that knew Nan know she had the ability to make friends where ever she went. Whether it was during a hospital stay where she would soon know the nurses, lunch lady and her room mates whole life story, or if she was just sitting on the bench waiting for mum when she took her out for coffee or shopping, she would soon have a new friend that she could tell you everything about.
Although we have to now sadly say goodbye to Nan, the thing that gives me some peace is choosing to believe she is now back with the love of her life, Pop.

Love you always nan from your adoring grandaughter Lauren.
Say hi to Pop for me xx.

  5. Mum
Thank you mum for bringing me into the world, for always loving me and sharing with me your view of the world. Thank you for teaching me right from wrong, the importance of family and volunteering. Thank you for encouraging me to be my own person and although we may not have always agreed about everything I did listen, consider your views and then make my own decision.
Thank you for the hours we spent playing scrabble and cards, watching tv together and chatting on the phone. Our joint love of football and cricket always gave us something to talk about.
Mum your passion for life and those your love will always be with me. You will be in my heart forever.
    I love you mum.

  7. Thank you for welcoming me into your family 50 years ago and accepting me as part of your family.
You were a worrier, a source of information and a proud mum, grandma and great grandma.
I will miss the stories and updates you gave of all your family and friends around you.
    Finally at rest with Bruce.

  8. We loved our mum because she was always in our corner.
Whether it was at school, in the playground or on the sporting ground.
To mum we were the only ones out there.
This also applied to the grandchildren and great grandchildren when they arrived.
She loved her family above all else.

Growing up we weren’t wealthy but always had everything we needed because she would go without her self.

Mum didn’t just love her family she loved people in general. She would talk to anyone of any age and all walks of life and I am sure knew the life story of most people she met and they knew hers. Even in her last days she would tell us when the nurses babies were due and what they were up to on the weekend. She was genuinely interested in getting know people.

During her life she fought back many times from serious illness, and would soon be back living life at 100 percent. Through all of these setbacks the impact it was having on her family was uppermost in her mind.

Since Dad passed away 8 years ago Mum found life more difficult and the one thing that helps us accept her passing is knowing they are together again.

We were lucky to have her as our mum.

  9. It’s been an absolute pleasure visiting and getting to know Joan these past 17 months. I always looked forward to our visits and either watching the football, cricket, sipping tea or talking politics. We sure did see eye to eye on many things (except our football teams :). You always talked lovingly and fondly of your family and of Bruce and I know you will be happy to be reunited with him. May you rest in peace Joan and God Bless. Love Shae xxxx
